Potential Reuse of the Hamburg Center
On this edition of the Argall Report, we present highlights of a community meeting to discuss ideas for reuse of the Hamburg Center property
Senator Argall, after review by the PA Senate Committee that he chairs, reports that of the five Centers and Hospitals closed, two were sold (for one of which, Western Center, the state was paid $2 million dollars), one is vacant and deteriorating, costing multi-millions of dollars to the taxpayer every year, one is partially used as staff offices, but still cost the taxpayers millions in maintainence every year, one was tied up in litigation and the local township had to pay over $1 million dollars in settlement costs.
